Su Yung & undead maid of honor vs. Allie & Madison Rayne

The faces are in synch early on but the heels take control with Allie the face in peril.

When Rayne finally tags in, it looks like she has the win over the bridesmaid when the other bridesmaids start distracting. Allie clears out the rest of them on the floor but Su tries to deliver the Panic Switch. As she’s spinning Madison, the ref gets knocked.

Madison fights out and hits her finish but the ref isn’t there to count it. While he’s down, Tessa Blanchard runs to the ring and starts laying into Rayne. But Allie fights Tessa off. Madison recovers to deliver Cross Rayne to the bridesmaid for the win.

Winners: Allie & Madison Rayne

Tessa Blanchard Back to Basics is our next Knockout to be featured in this series. It is about the empowerment of our female athletes. What did we need? A backdrop, a camera, some lights and our amazingly talented Photographer, Andrea Kellaway. We found a bench that was in the arena and just asked the girls to be natural, to be comfortable and to have fun. What we accomplished was Knockouts: Back to Basics and we can’t wait to share these images with all of you.

Tessa Blanchard is a 3rd Generation Knockout. She has already started an amazing career and is really just scratching the surface. So far, Tessa Blanchard has proven she is both Unbreakable and Undeniable.

Madison Rayne began the show with a promo talking about her return to Impact and how she is challenging Su Yung for the Knockouts Title at Slammiversary. She was soon interrupted by Tessa Blanchard, who mocked her return and also talked about how Madison Rayne is a bad mother and a bad wrestler. Blanchard said this isn’t 2011, Madison isn’t the best because Tessa is. Madison said she pinned Tessa, but Tessa claimed it was a fluke. Madison said she had no problem giving Madison a reminder of who she was.

The lights flickered and screaming could be heard. Both Tessa and Madison looked frightened in the ring. As soon as the screaming and light flickering stopped, Tessa belted Madison with a forearm. Tessa’s music played and she left the ring.

Tessa Blanchard Vs. Madison Rayne

Tessa dominates in the early going as she hits an impressive delayed vertical suplex. Tessa jumps off the top but Madison avoids it and hits an enzuigiri to start building momentum. Madison connects with a tilt-a-whirl headscissors, following by a sliding clothesline for a near fall! Tessa plants Madison out of the corner turnbuckles but she kicks out! Madison is knocked out in the corner as the referee stops Tessa from continuing the attack. Tessa pushes the ref and the distraction allows Madison to hit the crucifix to win!

Winner: Madison Rayne

Tessa attacked Madison after the match. Tessa was about to hit Madison with a chair but Su Yung appeared on the stage with the undead bridesmaids. Su Yung directed the bridesmaids to surround the ring while Tessa was still in there with a chair. Tessa bailed out (the ramp side wasn’t surrounded), leaving Madison Rayne in the ring alone. Madison was surrounded in the ring and they all jumped her and attacked. Allie returned and cleared Su Yung and the bridesmaids from the ring.

We see a video package of Madison Rayne’s return to Impact and why she stuck her nose in Tessa Blanchard’s business. She also mentions that she has her sights set on one more Knockouts Title. We then go to McKenzie with Tessa Blanchard, who calls last week a fluke because she’s a winner who makes things happen, not a loser who has to take a stroll down memory lane because of their insecurity. Keira Hogan comes in to point out that Tessa didn’t live up to the hype, and Tessa responds by laying her out, then picking her up and doing it again. Keira fires back, and security runs in to pull them apart, but that only creates an opening Tessa uses to work Keira over some more, ram her into the wall, and then stomp on her head.

We look back at last week’s confrontation between Tessa Blanchard and Madison Rayne, then we go to McKenzie with Madison, who says that Impact is home for her, and it was great to meet some of the new Knockouts, but she came back here to be an announcer, not a wrestler. The Knockouts division was built on respect, not bullying, so she needed to do something. Tessa comes in and asks her how dare she show up in her workplace and do what she did when her workplace is being a stay at home mother. Madison should stay at home, and since Madison wants to hit her from behind, they should go face-to-face in the ring.

One of the biggest talking points coming out of Sunday’s huge Redemption event was the debut of a brand new 3rd Generation Knockout. In the middle of Kiera Hogan and Taya Valkyrie‘s match, Tessa Blanchard joined Don Callis and Josh Mathews and put the Knockouts division on notice. But what exactly does Tessa Blanchard want in IMPACT Wrestling? We sat down with her to find out.

“I came to the Knockouts Division because it’s no secret that the past six months or so IMPACT’s been making strides. The hottest free agents out there – Pentagon, Fenix, Brian Cage – IMPACT has locked them down,” Blanchard said when asked why she came to IMPACT. “When it comes to the Knockouts Division, I’m the hottest free agent out there right now!”

Tessa Blanchard has no intention on starting from the bottom. “I’m not looking to work my way up. I feel like I deserve a shot at the Knockouts Championship. On the independent circuit I’ve traveled the world, I’ve won championships, I’ve won tournaments – I’ve defeated some of the best out there so I feel like I am one of the best.”

At Redemption Tessa made her presence known during a match featuring Kiera Hogan and Taya Valkyrie but she has her eyes on a bigger prize. “I’m coming here and I want to be the top dog, I’m going to go after whoever has the Knockouts Championship – and right now that’s Allie. I’ve got my sights set on Allie and if any of the Knockouts get in my way I’ll run right through them.”

The Blanchard name carrier considerable weight in the world of pro wrestling. Tessa’s grandfather Joe Blanchard and father Four Horsemen member Tully Blanchard lend considerable pedigree. “Carrying on the Blanchard name is a huge honor for me because my grandfather, my father and my step-father – they’ve all put a lot into their legacy and for me to carry that on, it’s a lot of weight on my shoulders. I put pressure on myself to be the best and to carry on the Blanchard name with dignity and with pride.”

One thing is for sure, Blanchard isn’t short of confidence. She is certain that with her talent and her legacy she’s destined for gold in the Knockouts division. “These Knockouts, they’re good, they’re talented, they’ve got the look and the charisma and all that but there’s one thing that’s certain – none of them are Tessa Blanchard.”
